Amanda + John

Hey Everyone,

A family member of the wedding couple reached out to me to see if I was available to photograph the event. He said: “Hey I was wondering if you were available for this wedding. Their names are Amanda and John.” I had to chuckle at the irony. You see, my name is Amanda and I am currently dating someone named John. I love traveling for wedding events. As I have never photographed a wedding in Cincinnati, Ohio, I gave him an enthusiastic “Yes!”.

The wedding was a gathering of friends and family in Ault Park. Ault Park is the fourth largest park in Cincinnati and is filled with beautiful gardens and overlooks. I arrived to find that they had forgotten their bouquets at home and had someone driving back to get them. This gave me an opportunity to hear their story and to get to know them a little better. John is a father of three kids and Amanda is a mother of two. This wasn’t just a wedding; it was a simple and sweet way to join their two families.

The reception was in their home. The living/dining room furniture had been removed and replaced with tables, chairs and decorations. Watching the couple and their new blended family, I could see how it was a beautiful symbol of the proclamation of not only their love for each other, but for all of the children. I am glad I was there to capture this moment in their lives, as they begin their next chapter.
